Changes to my study programme
In my honest opinion, I believe that the singing program curriculum at the University of Chile is quite extensive. However, the recent modifications seem to aim towards producing more graduates who become teachers in the field or specialize in a particular area of study. There are not many opportunities for individual growth or specific development for those who aspire to be soloists in an orchestra or philharmonic. It is of utmost importance to provide students with the confidence to pursue their inspirations, but unfortunately, the university has been diminishing dreams and creativity. There are many courses that I would definitely remove from the curriculum. The “inter-disciplinary” approach in the arts, such as music, is not entirely necessary, nor are some of the specializations in aesthetics.
